Discrimination: Can’t work at Braum’s because of tattoos?
Can they really say that just because you have tattoos (that can be easily covered up) that you cannot work at a place like this? For those of you who don’t know what Braum’s is, it is like Dairy Queen/grocery store. Isn’t this discrimination?
Answer:
Yes, it’s discrimination, only it’s not the illegal kind. Having tattoos does not place you in a protected class.

Having tats does not place you into a protected class, therefore there are no laws against such policies. It might border into religious discrimination if you were from some indigenous Amazonian tribe and the tat was done for religious purposes. ;0
All things you do in life will have consequences. Tats should come with a warning label informing the victim that visually exposed ink could have dire job hunting ramifications. Apply for a different job or get the ink removed.
It can be considered discrimination, but the store is allowed to do it. Lots of places have tattoo bans, and they are perfectly legal. Because tattoos are a choice.

Good luck to you in your job search.
