Discriminated against for standing up for my rights

Question:
Is there some law being broken for me being punished for standing up for my rights? My employer is more concerned with production than my health, and I am ignored, chastised for getting a lawyer, so that i could fight for the benefits I should have gotten.  Now because I took an out of court settlement, my employer feels if I was really ill I would’ve taken it all the way to court, and really sued them.  Now my record at work presently is “refusing to return to work”, even though I’m on disability with 4 doctors treating me and ‘I’M AWAITING SURGERY…HELP!!!!

Answer:
That would depend upon the details of the settlement.  You’re right, you can’t return to work if you’re out on disability.  Your employer settled OUT of court so they wouldn’t get their ass whipped IN court.  What was your entire settlement deal?  I’m not just talking about money, I’m also talking about the part where they’re not supposed to act an ass after the settlement.  Nail ‘em again, if you have to for retaliation.
