Do you think that most women who complain about “sexual harassment” are either lying or being overly dramatic?
Question:
It was recently reported that one of Herman Cain’s accusers filed another complaint at a separate employer several years after the incident at the National Restaurant Association. Now, I have no doubt that Cain is a dirty, old pervert but this woman is also homely and plain. It doesn’t seem to make sense that she would attract any attention, wanted or otherwise, from men. I am not a Cain apologist. But, a homely woman being harassed twice at two separate work places? I’m not buying it.
Answer:
It’s not up to me to say whether or not it happened, but for the sake of argument, let’s say it did. For them to bring it up so many years later, it must not have been severe enough or persistent enough to file any sexual harassment claim with the EEOC or state’s labor board, but they’ve hated the guy ever since and have a bone to pick with him. Him running for office gives them the perfect platform to publicly embarrass him as it’s the only way to “get even”. I have not been following it, but that one chick had Gloria Allred for an attorney. Who the hell is paying for that? My guess is that they hope to get some type of out of court settlement and that’s where Allred’s fee will come from. I don’t personally know Cain so I can’t say if he’s a snake in the grass, but these women are looking for payback so they went public and will also try to hit is pocketbook.
And now that new chick who crawled out of the woodwork and said she had an affair for THIRTEEN YEARS with him. What’s her point? I personally don’t like Cain, but who gives a crap? What does she hope to accomplish by coming out with this? She’s a pot stirrer.
Although the law doesn’t prohibit simple teasing, offhand comments, or isolated incidents that are not very serious, harassment is illegal when it is so frequent or severe that it creates a hostile or offensive work environment or when it results in an adverse employment decision (such as the victim being fired or demoted). http://www.eeoc.gov/laws/types/sexual_harassment.cfm
