Right, if you go to school full-time then that might put your unemployment benefits in jeopardy. But there’s no reason why you can’t take a few classes. If your classes are at night that leaves you time during the day to look for a job or work. A lot of community colleges have night classes. good luck!
Collecting unemployment means you are ready, willing and able to go back to work. If you are taking classes, you cannot work. Same thing with being sick or on vacation while collecting unemployment. You are required to report the time that you were NOT available to work and those hours will be deducted from your UE check.
You can check for county and state programs to see if you qualify for any type of assistance. It may depend on how old your child is. See if the unemployment office has any type of information about such programs.
