Got Laid Off In Possible Retaliation
I live in Illinois and got laid off yesterday. Can a person be laid off when they have temp employees working? They said I got laid off for slow down in production, but other employees had over 25 hours overtime the last two weeks. I did not get asked to work overtime at all for the last 3 months. I think I am being retaliated against for something that happened in september.

You can be laid off for any reason so long as it’s not an illegal reason. You don’t state what you think it was in retaliation to. Do you have any kind of documentation to support your claims? If you think you have a case, I would find an employment law attorney to get a consultation.
