How is “equal pay” achievable without government control of labor markets and pay?
Question: 47 years have gone by since the Equal Pay Act was passed and women still make less money. This despite the fact that more women graduate from college (albeit mostly for useless degrees) than men. Although parity has been achieved in reality, feminists are not satisfied because aggregate rates still show a large gap (because fewer women work full-time, high-stress jobs).
So, given this fact, is “equal pay” achievable unless government simply controls the labor markets and all employee pay?
Answer: You’re comparing apples to oranges. You said women have useless degrees, don’t work as many hours and aren’t doing the high stress work of men. With that comparison, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see why they aren’t making the same pay. You have to compare identical jobs, hours, ability and education. Then you’ll have a relative argument.
