Injured at work, without being at fault.. What can I do?
I got hit to the side of the head by a forklift with pallets on it, the driver didn’t see me in the front. Dr. said I had head contusions, and headaches as of the injury… just happened a few days ago, I didn’t fill out the report until the following day, but I’ve been off work since. The Dr. said i’m ok to go back to work, but at times I still feel nausea and very light headed, with these headaches coming back and forth for some odd reason. My temp agency just wants me to go back to work… What should I do or what can I do.. please professional advice. thank you.

Your headaches are coming back “for some odd reason”? You seriously don’t know why? FILE A WORKER’S COMP CLAIM IMMEDIATELY! Your doctor should be f*ing shot for not doing so when he/she knew damn well you were injured at work. If you don’t, you’re going to be stuck with the medical bills. Filing a claim will also put you in a protected class so you can’t be fired. You should NOT be working if you’re feeling sick. Who’d you go to, the company doctor? God, I hope not. Company doctors are the anti-Christ. Company doctors don’t give a crap about you, only the company. Go to your own doctor. If you don’t have a doctor, go to one of those little doc-in-the-box urgent care offices. Since you’re working for a temp agency, ask them to get you the worker’s comp insurance information. THEY CANNOT REFUSE. It is illegal for an employer to prevent you from filing a claim.
And it doesn’t matter whose fault it was. Get that claim filed now.
GO BACK to the doctor and tell them what’s wrong!! If you can find a doctor that’s not associated with that company, it’d help. Make sure you get this taken care of now, otherwise later on when you have problems stemming from this injury, you don’t have a leg to stand on.
