I have. I just want to hear others’ stories.
(I refuse to call it “reverse discrimination.” Discrimination is discrimination, period.)

i’m not a man, but i came across this the other day, and was saddened that men are being discouraged from being doulas & called ‘creepy’ or ‘sickos’…..
I work in a profession where males are rare. I think that the males have it tough. They are very few and only come in every few years. Only a few make it. And when they are on the site, the residents, especially the elderly woman refuse to let a male staff member help her
I work in a female dominated profession and am one of only two men in my office. I have been told that there are certain things that I should not be doing because I am a man. Not all of my colleagues agree with this, but it has occurred. I don’t know if that is truly sex discrimination, but it surprised me. But I definitely don’t feel like a victim. I am treated well and enjoy my work. But I don’t spend a lot of time in the staffroom. Oh, and I get asked a lot to lift and carry heavy things. And to take lids off of jars! Pretty funny, really.
Yep, but by a customer… He wanted advice , but only given by a man ( re farm/animal problems he had.. like real "man stuff" )… "no problem ", I said …so I called a young helper, and told him to repeat to the customer what I am going to tell him…. then I totally ignored the customer standing next to me, and seriously explained to the young guy what he should pass on to the man….. sort of like an interpreter…. and the young man pretty much repeated the information the customer needed -word by word – and when the man had a question, I looked at the boy, who had to repeat it back to me….. I think I make him look pretty stupid… and he didn’t pull that one twice…. ( yes, I know, it is very unprofessional, but once in a while the mischievous part of me takes over…)
