Pregnancy Discrimination: Got Fired Because Father Was A Co-Worker
A friend of mine works (well, worked) in a retail store. About 4 months ago she found out she was pregnant. While it’s totally unlike her to have one night stands, this pregnancy was the result of a night of partying with some friends, including a guy she worked with (the baby’s father).
She was fired yesterday because they said they didn’t like the fact that she and the baby’s father were working together.
Can they really fire you for this? She had been at that job for almost a year and never had any problems up until now.

They already worked together, but “…they didn’t like the fact that she and the baby’s father were working together.” Keywords: “baby’s father”. Without a pregnancy, there would be no “baby’s father”, so to fire her because of it, yes, that is pregnancy discrimination.
Also, SHE got fired, not him? Why her? Why didn’t he get fired, too? You can be fired for any reason so long as it’s not an illegal reason. Your friend should click here to find an employment law attorney ASAP.
