I have always heard that you will not get the unemployment if you turn down a job at the same company that laid you off in the 1st place. This may be different depending on what you do and who you work for. Work is work! The gov doesn’t care if you like the work or not!
maybe check the unemployment website for your state.
The questions on the report you fill out is "were you physically able to work,, and did you refuse any offers", most all States can decline to pay you if you refused or you might want to ask for a hearing.
Your former employer pays at least part of your unemployment benefits, so if you turn down their offer, they’ll probably complain to your unemployment office, which would then discontinue your payments. I’ve been through it before. You can, however, refuse a job offer if it pays less than a certain percentage of your last rate of pay; if most of the work is outside of your skill set and your degree or specialized training; if it requires you to relocate or commute more than fifty miles; or if it places you in direct contact with someone who has physically threatened you or sexually harrassed you. Good luck!
