What do you think about age discrimination in the corporate work place?

I just found a youtube video about being older and long-term unemployed and found it amusing. I have had the same experience and am one of those who has given up looking for a job. I was laid off at age 50. I looked for 5 years and was never contacted for a job..with 25 years experience and 3 degrees..2 from a top 10 school in engineering. So, why does your government permit this to happen. I thought it was illegal..yet it happens ALL THE TIME..there are books written on it..check Amazon.com for “age discrimination” corporation, and you will see some.

Here is the video you were referring to. I find nothing amusing about it. Shocking, is more like it. Like he said, face age discrimination head on when those young punks are interviewing you. Tell them you HAVE the skill set they need and because you are an older worker, they NEED your social security contributions to pay for THEIR retirement. By hiring only younger workers, there will be no SS for the younger generation.
