  • If you haven’t already settled your claim, you NEED an attorney to get a settlement. You, personally, simply cannot argue such a case. Click here to find a pre-screened worker’s comp attorney in your area.

FYI: Judging by some scuttle that I’ve been reading, it might be wise to get an attorney that doesn’t live too close to you. I know that’s a pain in the butt, but sometimes when relations between attorneys and companies become a little “too friendly”, you might not get a fair shake, even though such things are illegal.

If you have already signed off your claim you are screwed. If you are still getting TWC medical assistance and have not been assigned a percentage disability make sure and get a doctor on your side, not just the company doctor, to evaluate your disability. You could qualify for many thousands of dollars in permanent disability money with such a devastating injury. I hope you have someone you can talk to about this otherwise the insurance company will do you financial harm.

PS…Don’t take the insurance company nurse with you on your dr visits. You are under no obligation to deal with that nurse and s/he works against your interest.
