Injured At Work (California), Then Fired – What Can I Do?
i was injured at work.I had a slip and fall on a wet floor at my job; while i was on crutches. I have a fractured ankle and injured my back and my neck.Which has also given me headaches. My workers comp claim has been accepted. My Job Fired me for not following rules. However what should i do. Get a lawyer? Am i entitled to a settlement?
i was injuried and then i was fired for taking 6 35 min. breaks instead of 30 min breaks in a 12month span. they were looking to fire me after i reported my supervior to HR. IDo i still get my tempoary disable paycheck. Who pays me when i am fired. how do i go about getting a settlement.
oh yeah and since i got fired i cant get unemployment. they screwed me over. I live in California does know who is the best worker comp firm. Everyone says i have a case.
Answer: “Everyone” says you have a case? Any of them happen to be lawyers? You need legal advice from an expert, not your friends. Click here to get a consultation with a workers’ compensation attorney to find out if you have a solid case.
Did your 35 minute break problems start before you got injured or after? If before, seems they are the ones with the established timeline of you not following the rules. If that’s the case, you still need an attorney to figure out if there is a tinge of retaliation in there for the work comp claim.
