California hostile workplace investigation rules?

 

Question:

Can an employer terminate a salaried manager for what was termed as having created hostile workplace, if in fact they have never confronted the manager and or given that manager an opportunity to hear specific accusations and or defend themselves ? Wouldn’t it also seem curious that this manager took his location, under such supposed adverse conditions, to #1 in two consecutive quarters with customer service scores, after having been a bottom dweller for numerous quarters prior? Additionally doesn’t it also seem curious that the location reduced shrink in 2 quarters by over 60% ? How can all these positives occur in a hositle environment ? Would it not be possible that a couple of cancerous employees could in fact create and or feed this hostile illusion especially given the fact they are poor perfomers ? Is there any recourse ?
