Gender Discrimination – Men Getting All The Work
I’ve been passed over repeatedly at the temp agency where I try to get work, my boss will send out loads of guys but not me for jobs that I can and am willing to do. The jobs we’re hired for are just basic, unskilled labor that only pays minimum wage in most cases. My boss’s excuse is ”men are stronger or you’re not strong enough” when in reality I am strong enough and I grew up doing these types of work. Anyone have any advice? Don’t say get another job–that’s virtually impossible in my area b/c of bad economy.
my boss is a woman. she’s a tiny person, barely 5 ft tall and maybe 105 lbs–not very strong. i grew up doing hard physical labor–i was raised on a farm and i did construction work for my cousin’s company so it’s not a matter of physical weakness on my part. last time i got any work was around last Xmas even tho i show up frequently.
