Employment Law Information

I’m going to protect myself by using as little detail as possible, so bear with me, and try to understand.

I have an important job, at an important place. My responsibilities are vast, and were quickly forced upon me.

I like what I do, BUT, my boss frequently calls me names like F****** Moron, and the like, he tells me I am doing a lot wrong when I don’t completely understand what he needs and he won’t answer questions to help me (Ex: date ranges on reports), I am only allowed to take time off “If [my] mother dies”, and he has openly threatened to fire me repeatedly, and is holding interviews for my position this week, while i am in the office.

I have updated my resume and have started the search for a new job.

My question is, what are my rights in this situation? Where can I look to make myself more educated on the matter? I’m prepared to hire a lawyer, but how do I know if they are trustworthy? Since my workplace is so stressful do I qualify for any type of unemployment, even if I walk out?

There is a bit more to the situation, but that is what i can say without fear.
