Sex/Gender-Based Discrimination: Won’t Hire Males

I work at a travel center/candy factory/gas station and I have a few concerns about the hiring process. My boss will not hire men whatsoever. Not that it concerns me personally, but someone I know went to apply and really needed a job. I felt bad and thought I should do something about this. She does not want to hire males because of a previous conflict with two employees and an affair between them. This could happen anywhere and I do not think it is right to not hire men entirely. She doesn’t even consider their applications, just counts them out. However, she did hire a male maintenance man, but he is older and does not work inside the store. How can I do something about this anonymously? I like my job and do not want to lose it, but feel I should raise this concern of discrimination, if it qualifies……please help.

A:  You could turn it into the EEOC or your state’s labor board.
