Temporary Disability: Am I being discriminated against?
Question:
I had a stroke. I was in the hospital and rehab for a month. I’m doing much better now, 4 months later. I have been out of work these 4 months, but receiving TDI. Now, I’m ready to go back to work. The 2 jobs I worked at (local churches) don’t want to let me come back to work. I feel I’m being discriminated against.
what can I do ?
Answer:
Has your doctor released you to go back to work? Check with your state’s department of labor. I honestly don’t know if churches have to follow the same employment laws as regular employers.
